Postmodern Blog Post

We have an abundance of postmodern relics in our everyday life. Cite an example of a postmodern work/artifact that you have encountered recently. Explain why this would qualify as postmodern.

Just last weekend, my sister and I watched the movie Inception on Netflix.
What does this movie have to do with postmodernism? Well postmodernism began as philosophical movement in the arts and critical thinking during the second half of the 20th century. Postmodern works tend to criticize reality, value systems, human nature, and refuse to conform the ideas and theories of the modernist approach in films. Postmodernism blurs the the lines between reality and truth. In Inception, a man named Dom Cobb is a thief with the rare ability to enter people's dreams and steal their secrets from their subconscious. Inception is a movie that challenged universal truths related to memory and how we perceive the world around us and highlighted a sense of hyperreality–an inability of consciousness to distinguish reality from a simulation of reality— thus making it a movie that followed a postmodern approach
