Their Eyes were Watching God Ending

At the end of the novel, Janie's flashback ends, and the novel returns to Janie's conversation from Chapter 1. Janie realizes that as long as she lives, the memory of Tea Cake will live within her heart. From being subjected to domestic abuse, losing her husband, being judged by her community, and losing Teacake, Janie finally finds the peace that she has desired for her entire life as the story closes off. Our lit circle group discussed this journey and growth Janie faces throughout her life.
